 1. Opium (poppy) 

Scientific name -Papaver somniferum

Medicinal  uses -

1. Opium and morphine are widely used for relieving pain and are considered as valuable as hypnotics. 

2. It is also preferred in many cases in the treatment of diarrhoea.

Scientific name -Allium sativum

Uses-

1.The bulbils are given in fevers, cough, whooping and bronchitis. 

2.Its syrup is used against asthma and disorders of chest and lungs.

3. Onion

Scientific Name -Allium  cepa

Uses-

1. The bulb Or onion is a stimulant, diuretic and expectorant. 

2. The bulb is used against jaundice, spleen enlargement and dyspepsia. 

3. The juice is used against piles .

4. Phut kanda 

Scientific name - Achyranthus  aspera

Uses - 

1. All parts of the plant are used against several diseases such as boils, colic, piles etc. 

2.Roots are used for pyrrhoea, cough and fevers.

5. Holy Basil (Tulsi) 

Scientific name - Ocimum sanctum 

Usse - 

1. The leaves are expectorant, stomachic, diaphoretic and aromatic. 

2. Decoction from leaves is used in malaria, gastric diseases of children and liver disorders.

6. Indian Aloe 

Scientific name - Aloe barbodensis

Uses-

1.The leaves are used as remedy for various disease. 

2. After the removal of skin, they are given to person suffering from fevers, enlargement of liver and spleen, constipation, jaundice, rheumatism, certain skin disorders etc.
