It is the only spot in Jammu to watch migratory birds of different species.
It took us an hour to reach our destination. When I visited the place, the birds had not yet all arrived. Somehow I have seen few birds namely grey Heron, Egret, Red-wattled lapwing, House crow, and Bar-headed Geese so, I took some pictures of birds flying together.
Wildlife official said not than 3,000 to 4,000 people, mostly school children, have visited the place to take a look at the bird. It is not only became a picnic for the schoolchildren but also live education center for teaching them to love environment, protect and preserve it.
This habitat provides sufficient space to migratory birds for roosting, resting and feeding of aquatic food in the water. Because of presence of Army pickets in the area in the area also provided good security to birds.
These Wetland are not only home to birds but provide an excellent opportunity to the state government to develop them as eco-tourist destination for attracting National and International tourists.
